The quirk is the original ink APHIS endorsement — the certificate must physically go to a USDA office and return. Nicaragua is not CDC high-risk, so the trip home is easy.

    Pets over 4 months old must be vaccinated against rabies, given no more than 365 days before departure, with the vaccination certificate carried along. Animals 4 months or younger are exempt. No minimum waiting period after the shot is specified.
