Preflight Pet is built to be private by design. The planner runs entirely in your browser, there are no accounts, and we do not run a database of your trips. This policy explains exactly what that means.
The short version
- We don't ask you to sign up or log in.
- The travel dates and choices you enter into the planner are processed in your browser only — they're never sent to us or stored on a server.
- We don't run analytics or tracking scripts that profile you.
- Some outbound links are affiliate links (see below), and if we ever show ads you'll get a cookie choice first.
Information we collect
Planner inputs. When you pick a route, species and travel date, the calculation happens locally in your browser using rule files loaded with the page. These inputs are not transmitted to us and are not stored anywhere after you close the tab.
Local storage on your device. We store one small flag in your browser's local storage (named pp-ack) to remember that you've dismissed the one-time disclaimer, so it doesn't reappear on every page. It stays on your device, contains no personal information, and you can clear it any time via your browser settings.
Server logs. Our web host may keep standard, short-lived access logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability, as virtually all websites do. We don't use these to identify or profile you.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links — including to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, Preflight Pet earns from qualifying purchases. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase or request a quote, the destination company (for example Amazon, a pet-insurance provider, or a pet-relocation service) may set its own cookies and may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. Those companies' own privacy policies govern what they collect once you leave our site. Affiliate links never change the official government requirements we show, and we only feature services relevant to pet travel.
Advertising
We currently show no ads and set no advertising cookies. If we introduce advertising (for example Google AdSense) in the future, we'll show a cookie-consent banner first: advertising and personalization cookies stay switched off until you choose to accept them, and you can decline and still use the whole site. You'll also be able to manage Google's ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
Links to official sources
Every route links to official government pages (USDA APHIS, destination animal-quarantine authorities, the CDC, and similar). Those sites are outside our control and have their own privacy practices — we encourage you to review them.
Children
Preflight Pet is a general-audience travel tool and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can clear the pp-ack flag (and any future preferences) by clearing site data in your browser, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Because we don't hold an account or a profile for you, there's nothing on our side to export or delete.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
